Shakedown Cruise September 2023

This is the track of our shakedown cruise in September. Nebo is the app we'll be using on the loop to track our boat movements. It provides lots of information and will allow me to post maps like this of our progress over the course of any time period.

Kyra modeling her PFD. We think she liked cruising and all the activity outside the windows.

In Jamestown, RI

Sunset back in Hampton after a successful cruise. We all are looking forward to departing in May 2024.

Ports of call:

1 - Glouster, MA - mooring / traveled through the Annisquam River, waited for the bridge to lift, spent the night exposed to the sea, very rolly.

2 - Scituate, MA - marina - had dock help to "muscle" us in, learn to call out "feet remaining", celebrated Jimmy Buffet's life with margaritas at lunch. Wonderful stay.

3 - Mattapoisett, MA - mooring (complimentary from broker's brother) / rough ride through Buzzard's Bay, ask if not sure (rock buoy).

4,5 - Jamestown, RI - mooring (complimentary at Martha/Andy's yacht club) / make sure to leave cockpit lights on if back after dark. Foghorn from 4-6AM, walk to M&A's - dinner with Colin. So hot.

6 - Block Island, RI - marina / 1st time with pilings, stern in, great dock hand, toss like granny bowling (loop back to boat), ask for help. Lots of walking, great swim, AC!

7 - Cuttyhunk, MA - mooring / practiced anchoring (no luck holding) - use engine to have backward momentum, agree ahead on mooring or capt. to pick. Surrounded by Sabres.

8,9 - Martha's Vineyard, MA - mooring (complimentary Bill Brine), still hot, foggy departure, Bill offered to move boat if ever needed and schedules allow.

10 - Plymouth, MA - mooring / rain, fog, lobster pots, tides through the canal

11 - Glouster, MA - inner harbor mooring / very bright and industrial noise all night, relatively calm.

12 - Hampton, NH - our slip / friendly bridge watchers through the Annisquam River, fog, waves in the Atlantic. Hurricane heading for the east coast.
