It seemed appropriate to close out 2025 with one more post from Emilie B.  Since returning in May to our home in NH, we have been catching up with family and friends and thinking about future adventures. We have been excited by the number of people who have told us how much they enjoyed following our year on the Loop. It was fun to share with all of you! As we thought about the future, we made the decision to sell Emilie B, which happened in late summer. She was the perfect boat for us, kept us safe and supported us flawlessly for 7600 miles. Our experience on Emilie B opened our eyes to the world on the water. Another boat is probably in our future.  With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to Kyra in October. We know she loved spending her 18th year with us on Emilie B and we miss her every day. We are looking forward to 2026, wishing you all a year filled with hope, happiness and kindness.  Signing off from the Emilie B - Linda, David and Kyra (in our hearts) June 9th - Emil...

We arrived at our summer slip in South Port Marine, South Portland, ME on May 3rd! After crossing our wake in NYC, we decided to make way while the weather cooperated, especially as we looked at the long-range forecasts of waves, wind and rain. We've started the process of transferring from the boat back home and will make a few more trips back to ME as we get Emilie B in tiptop shape after a safe and comfortable year aboard.  For now, we are enjoying seeing old friends and family, taking long showers and enjoying some extra space. We plan to spend the summer cruising around the coast of Maine and reflecting on our epic adventure. We are so grateful for all your support and encouragement over the past year. We are happy you found our adventure interesting and if you are inspired to do "The Loop", we would be more than happy to offer our insights.   Note from David: Linda gets all the credit for thoroughly and thoughtfully documenting our trip. If it had been left up to me...

We did it!!

We crossed our wake in NYC, finishing our loop on April 24th, 330 days after we started. We still have a few hundred miles to go to get Emilie B to her slip in Portland, Maine. It's been an incredible adventure; we'll share more once we get home and have some time to reflect.  We decided to make the best of a break in the weather and go overnight from Cape May, NJ to NYC, which cut a couple of days off our last leg. It looks like we will be waiting out winds and waves for a few extra days in Long Island Sound, so not sure when we'll get back home, but it won't be long. Celebrating our accomplishment!
