Back in Salt Water!

Image
Lots of transitions in the last couple of weeks. We completed the inland waterways, went through our last lock (maybe 1 more depending on our route up the east coast) and returned to salt water. We spent Thanksgiving in Fairhope, AL - a lovely community on the east side of Mobile Bay. We've enjoyed getting our bikes out and stretching our legs after 3 nights anchoring out. Now looking forward to more white sand and eventually the return of balmy weather.  This is the largest group of boats we've travelled with (10 total) - departing Midway Marina for a long day of 4 locks and 60+ miles With the weather cooler, Kyra is seeking out sunny spots We spent a couple of nights in Columbus MS, getting ready for a 6-day run to the Gulf of Mexico Can't be a looper and not post a picture of the phonebooth that marks the border between MS and AL At the Tom Bevill Lock - US Army Corps of Engineers Snagboat MONTGOMERY c.1926 Given the long distances, the short days and the speed of our bo...

Not too many pictures for this post as it was retracing our steps until we turned onto Yellow Creek near Iuka, MS (our 14th state). Leaves floating by the boat on Tellico Lake Sunrise on our last day before heading west Goodbye to the Smoky Mountains Passed lots of boat and engine companies - this looks like a model being released in 2025 Another glorious morning as we leave Lenoir City When you can't decide what boat to get :) Obviously a favorite spot for some type of bird Passing by Chattano...
