Short Hiatus

After seeing the devastation from Hurricane Helene and the formation of Milton, we decided to drive home to NH for a week, leaving Emilie B secure in Florence, AL. It is a beautiful time to be in New England, but we remained worried for our family and friends as this hurricane season continues to be catastrophic.

These photos are from a couple of weeks ago as we made our way to Florence, enjoying the scenery and continued very warm weather. I don't expect to do another post for a few weeks since our plan is to stay in the Tennessee River area until November.

Dusk at anchor in a bay off Kentucky Lake

Takes some effort to get to water

Only our wake is disturbing the water

Kentucky Lake homes

Dawn departure from Clifton Marina - fishing boats have already departed

We didn't stay here but looks like fun!

Surveying things at Pickwick State Park marina

Not sure I'd be comfortable out on this deck (across from the marina in Florence)

Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian home in Florence - beautifully restored by the city

We toured the famous Muscle Shoals sound studio - such incredible music history in this area

Emilie B waiting for us in Florence, AL

Wilson Lock - we need to go up 95' through the lock to reach Wilson Lake and then 3 more locks to reach Chattanooga

After nearly 3300 miles, coming home has been a nice break!
