Heading North!

We have started our journey north!  It was great to spend January in Marathon and now we're all excited to start making our way home.  We aren't in a rush and are looking forward to seeing what this section of The Loop has to offer.  Many have told us it is their favorite part.  We'll be traveling in the ICW until we get to NJ, which means much more protected waterways, but also many other boaters and lots and lots of bridges. Right now we are enjoying a few days at Dania Beach marina, just a short walk across the parking lot to a huge expanse of beach. The weather has been perfect too.  I'll be getting back to more regular updates as we continue on this adventure. Some of the sights from Marathon and our trip north from the Keys.

So many beautiful sunsets

A manatee makes a visit to our swim platform - not the last one we'll see!

Little Blue Heron - next to our boat

"Catfish" - Key West

"The Wreckers" - Key West

Key West

It just doesn't get old...

A few days before we left, our friends on Katie B arrived in the slip next door - they crossed their wake at this marina, so fun to celebrate with them!

It is illegal to provide fresh water to manatees (which they like) - this guy was disappointed that our a/c cooling water was salt, leaving after a brief visit

It's the actual one from the movie! *

Perfect cruising weather

Lots of these bridge types - this one we can fit under without waiting for an opening

Haulover Inlet - famous location of boating videos

Dania Beach City Marina - plenty of transient space

Walking back to the boat, experiencing a bridge opening from a different perspective

Beautiful beach, but there seems to be quite a few of these... **

Sunsets are still pretty, but no longer over the water
